SetupSteps + SetupStep · vertical inline-row pattern for docs setup/install/walkthrough sections

Setup

Numbered steps you read top to bottom. Use this for setup, install, and onboarding flows where each step is a single action with one short paragraph of context.

Add an xWiki source in OpenConnector

Open Integrations → Sources → New source, choose xWiki, paste the base URL and an API token. Test the connection.

Pick the spaces to index

Per source, choose one or more xWiki spaces. Open Register indexes the articles in those spaces and refreshes on the configured cron schedule.

Enable the integration in the consuming app

In the target app (DeskDesk, OpenCatalogi, etc.), open the Integrations tab, toggle xWiki articles on, pick the source you added above.

Verify

Open the app's chat sidebar, ask a question that matches an indexed article. The matching article appears in the answer with a deep-link back to xWiki.

Mount in MDX as <SetupSteps/> + <SetupStep/>

Vertical numbered-step list for docs setup/install/walkthrough sections. Each step shows a small orange hex with its number on the left and a bold title + one short paragraph on the right. Distinct from HowSteps, which is a 3-up card row for marketing surfaces; SetupSteps is meant for in-body docs prose where steps are sequential and detailed.

Props

title optional h2 above the list (e.g. Setup, Install); pass title={null} to drop the heading when the section already has one

lede optional one-paragraph intro

start starting number for the first step (default 1; useful when the list resumes after a break)

children one or more <SetupStep/> nodes

SetupStep takes title (bold text on the first line) and children (the body paragraph; MDX inline markup allowed). The step number is auto-assigned in document order; no manual numbering.
