The workflow
| Step | You write | Before the next step |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Brief | Audience, the one idea, the claim and its source, the length in bars | The requester confirms the idea and the claim |
| 2 · Treatment | Logline, story device, beat sheet on bars, words per scene | Whole bars, and at most 35 words per 30 seconds |
| 3 · Style frames | Three key frames, drawn with the film engine | The requester picks one. Nothing animates before that |
| 4 · Timeline | Scenes, captions, sound cues and voice takes in one place | The grid check finds no cut off the grid |
| 5 · Build | The film page, scenes built around the approved frames | The contact sheet shows the frames you approved |
| 6 · Sound | Cues next to the motion that causes them, the music and the voice | Every cue has a visible cause; -14 LUFS, peak -1.5 dBTP |
| 7 · Render | A half-size proof, then the master | The review below passes on the proof |
| 8 · Review | The scored rubric and the findings | No P0 or P1, and a mean score of 4.2 or more |
| 9 · Deliver | The master, its sources and the pull request | Ruben has watched it |
The brief
Copy it, fill it in, keep the answers short. If a field has no answer, the film is not ready to draw.
# Film name ## Context - Who watches it: one audience, in their own words - Where it plays: LinkedIn feed, product page, event screen. The review checklist
Run it on a contact sheet before the full render. A fix on a still costs seconds; a fix after a render costs a render. The ticks are only for you and are not saved.
Picture
Time, words and sound
The grid check measures several of these for you: node scripts/films/grid-check.mjs --root <repo> --page preview/films/<slug>/index.html --pixels.
The rubric
Score each line from 1 to 5. Every line needs at least 3, finish and sync need 5, and the mean needs 4.2. Read the film four times: as the director, as forensics (frame by frame round each cut), for sound and sync, and for art and copy.
| Dimension | A 5 means |
|---|---|
| Idea | One idea, readable in one viewing |
| Story device | One element travels through every scene and survives every cut |
| Rhythm | A change on every beat that matters, no dead bar, fast and slow moves in contrast |
| Grid | Sections on bar lines, cuts on 8ths, big moments on downbeats |
| Motion | Moves from the tokens; nothing pops or bounces |
| Transitions | Every seam designed, carrying the device, no cross-fade |
| Type | Whole words, one reveal per role, short lines, holds met |
| Copy | Our voice, every caption clear on its own |
| Brand | Solid fills, one orange, pointy-top hexes, real app icons |
| Sound and sync | Every sound caused and on its frame; the voice wins |
| Finish | No ghost frames, stalls or flicker; a clean loop point |
Severity
P0 · blocks delivery
A claim the product cannot back, a rotated hex, a gradient, a private recording in the repository.
P1 · fix before the master
A cut off the grid, a line held too short, a pop, a sound without a cause, a dead bar in the body.
P2 · fix when cheap
A move a frame late, a stagger that is slightly uneven.
Next
Fill in the brief, then draw three style frames. The worked example in the film skill (.claude/skills/film/references/worked-example.md) walks the Dossiq casework film through every step.
